It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 23rd season of the Interpretations Concert series in our new location, Roulette’s beautiful new space in Brooklyn.
I write this having just visited the nearly completed concert hall, and I could not be more excited. I am grateful to Jim Staley for his vision, leadership and hard work, and am happy to be part of a new music community which benefits from what Roulette provides. Come to our opening concert, featuring pioneers Morton Subotnick, Tony Martin, and George Lewis, and I’m sure you will return for as many as your schedule allows you to attend. The hall is flexible, allowing for the intimate concerts we love, but also accommodating larger projects such as Leo Smith’s Silver Orchestra and Robert Ashley’s opera “Concrete, the Next Generation.” Look over our calendar and you will see that each concert is a remarkable adventure in a unique aspect of new and experimental music. Come and enjoy.
