AACM50: Interpretations Celebrates 50 Years of the AACM
2015 marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians. The AACM is devoted “to nurturing, performing, and recording serious, original music,” according to its charter. AACM50 is our tribute to the AACM on this significant occasion. From February through April 2015, Interpretations will present the work of many of the AACM’s most renowned figures, including Muhal Richard Abrams, Thurman Barker, Leroy Jenkins, George Lewis, Roscoe Mitchell, Amina Claudine Myers, Wadada Leo Smith, and Henry Threadgill.
